Inspiring Story?

Ok this is a little like a random post, but I think this one will change something maybe. I wanted to search how I got into blogging & why. Well back in 5th grade our grade got a school E-mail and there was a movie that came out on Disney Channel called Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars  & well it was going to be my last year there and I don't know I had a lot to say. So I like wrote something that I wanted to say & only sent it to my closest friends. But here's the thing they all enjoyed it SO MUCH! So they forward it to their friends. And I would start getting E-mails from other girls I knew asking when I was going to write another blog post! I loved writing them cause they seemed to give me happiness & I really had so much fun. But after we moved....I didn't think about it much. But then one of my friends, Caroline showed me her blog so I started my own! And I forgot how much I liked doing this...it's one of the ways I can write which I love. Well I'm hoping to keep writing and I hope I may have inspired you. Tell me a story that inspired you or someone that inspired you. I would love to hear it! And comment if you have an idea for a post please. Thanks for always reading! <3 Hannah

Alarm clocks have stopped going off, no work, the sun is out, & the shorts are in & this can only mean one thing...school is out & summer is here! For Awards Day I got A/B honor roll, Perfect Attendance, highest average in ELA, Yearbook Staff, & an Art thing cause they will be hanging up one of my drawings.I'm hoping to be in Yearbook next year. I will be in Honors ELA & Honors Math 1 next year. Since I will  be in a higher up ELA class I have summer reading...now I'm not like most people & I kinda want to read these books! My plan for the summer is to read a lot of books(By the way I will have book posts SOON) But I'm just a bookworm...I'm planning for fun. With the sun out...my tan is coming, GOODBYE FARMER'S TAN, plus I will be swimming a lot. I also will be helping out in the garden. And of course...hanging out with my friends & my family. And this summer my family will be bringing my brother home for summer then we take him to his first year of collage at Vanderbilt.(I will miss ya JC!) My cousin, Regan, & I's summer project is working on this little clubhouse at my great grandmother's. I am hoping for a good summer & I have a lot of summer plans already. I hope your summer will be fun too. Comment & tell me some of your plans & if you have Post Ideas please comment! Thanks & have a bright and fun summer!

At my school, FCMS, the whole 7th grade (well not all of them) went to New York City & Washington DC!  I was in a group of 4 girls, Lauren L, Kirra M., & Madison G. then of course my mom. It was a 13hr drive to NYC...it was good but only thing is I wish our bus would have been a bit more quiet. We got to our hotel somewhere around 2 AM & we all went to bed around 3AM  & we all woke up at 6:55 so not even 4hrs! But that didn't stop us....so on Wed: went around NYC then after our lunch we had a Bus Tour yet once that was over we went to see Mary Poppins! It was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.(SONG) Thurs: It was our free day so my group went to tour NBC then we went to Time Square. That night we went to this cold baseball game which I didn't really watch...LOL! Fri: Went to DC & we went to some museums but we didn't have enough time there! Sat: King's Domain where there are rides which I don't like to ride very much. I got back around 12 AM  & didn't go to bed til 1. Sometime in New York....I rode the subway which wasn't bad but at first I was so scared!! Now that may be the last time I ride it. And the traffic there....wasn't good! Our bus driver didn't like any of it, there were people who ran right in front of our big bus I mean do you want to be dead? Same for DC, it felt like we never left NYC! In NYC we saw the Naked Cowboy & most of my group had pic taken with these people dressed up as someone...which you give them money if you do. There was a lot of walking! I am really glad to be home with all my friends again though. I'll always remember the Big Apple City though! Here are some pic....hope you like! <3

Wishful Thinking

I have finished a book called Wishful Thinking by Alexandra Bullen. If you could wish for a new life...would you?? Hazel Snow has always been alone. Adopted as a baby & shuffled from home to home, she's never really belonged anywhere. So when she receives three stunning, magical dresses-each with the power to grant one wish-Hazel wishes to know her mother. Yet transported to a time & place she couldn't have imagined, Hazel starts living an alternate life with her mother she never knew. Over the course of one amazing, miraculous summer, Hazel forms the most unexpected friendship & falls in love. But will her search to uncover her past forever alter her future?? This book...lets just say...was GREAT!! Alexandra didn't miss one word...it made me want to keep reading & would get kind of mad when my teachers said to put it away. Wonderfully written & couldn't be better. It shows the hardness of not knowing your real mom & feeling lost...but once you get what you have been searching for, your not sure if you can handle it. So many twists & turns I wasn't even thinking of! A MUST READ book!! Got any books you think I would like?(Always on the search for a good book) Comment! And I will post more books along the way....& if you have any ideas of something else I should post..comment as well. Thanks <3 -Hannah

The Kind of Friends We Used to Be

This is the sequel to The Secret Language of Girls so this is The Kind of Friends We Used to Be by Frances O'roark Dowell. Kate & Marylin are best friends forever....Well, except for last year when they weren't friends anymore....And except for this year when they both want to be friends again, but just don't know how to! But the thing is, even as they are trying to fix their broken friendship, they are becoming more & more unalike. And that's becoming harder & harder to deal with. Well, it would be a lot easier if Kate would take some of Marylin's fashion advice. I mean hello...ballet flats would look so much better than those big black combat boots. Feminine . But Kate..doesn't want to be feminine. She wants to learn guitar and write her own songs & be different; she wants to be the exact opposite of the middle-school cheerleaders. And maybe if Marylin would just stick up for herself and not get bullied by Mazie ( the MEANEST Cheerleader Ever) into judging anyone who's the least bit different, than Marylin & Kate could be real friends again. The ending is different & doesn't tell you everything, like make your own happy ending. I loved this book cause Kate is following her dream.  I mean isn't that what a person should do?? Plus when Marylin does try to stick up for herself she gets scared,  but hey middle school is that, just that. It makes girls see what really goes through each other minds. Hey if that person is someone you don't wanna give up on then don't give up on them cause you never know when you can become close again! <3

The Secret Language of Girls

I just finished another book called The Secret Language of Girls by Frances O'Roark Dowell. Back inn the old days when Kate had no interest in boys, she never cared what others thought of her. Now, it appeared, love was turning her into a rotten human being. Eleven-year-old Kate Faber wishes she could talk to her best friend, Marylin, about this. But Marylin is no longer her best friend. Or is she? Kate and Marylin were always the kind of best friends who lived on the same block for their whole lives, and who agreed on what kinds of boys were worth kissing, and who should be invited to their sleepover. The kind of best friends who didn't need words to talk, but who always just knew! But lately Marylin has started to think that Kate can be a bit babyish. And Kate thinks Marylin is acting like a big snob. Somehow nothing is the same, but secretly Kate & Marylin both wish it could be........This book is really good! It shows how even the greatest sisters in the world can fight. Plus it is really easy to put your feet in their shoes. It shows girls can be hard but somehow we always get back together. It is very insightful, funny, sweet, very real, & well written. Read it!! I bet you will love it. :D

Emily Windsnap and the Siren's Secret

You are talking to the Reading Queen! I have just finished another book & I haven't yet to post this book til now  ouch kind of bad! Ok so I just finished the last in this series.(there are 4 books in total) Emily Windsnap and the Siren's Secret by Liz Kessler. In Emily's fourth adventure, everything finally seems to be perfect in her life. Her family is together again, she is free to spend time with her best friend, Shona, and her new friend Aaron. But when the mer-town of Shiprock is threatened by construction, Emily and her family are charged by Neptune to bring humans and merpeople together again. Before Emily knows it, she is back in Brightport, carrying out Neptune's order, searching for some missing sirens with Shona & sorting out her feelings toward Aaron, yet worst of all? Dealing with her old enemies Mandy and Mr. Beeston. Emily sure has her fins filled! In this final book Liz Kessler has funny, good, & just always wanting to keep reading the next page. Greatly written. It shows just in a different way of course that everyone is the same & we shouldn't judge others. I would say go out & read this series but I would say read the 1st one, then 2nd one, then 3rd, & then this one to really get it. HAHAHA! I have more books to come....:)

Friendship

Friendship
Friendship is like a flower
It blooms with love & brightness
Yet it is tough like a rock
But fragile like glass
Even with the wind blowing, it stays still
But with one –PLUCK- it flies away
Friendship is the same
It stays together like pack
But with one slip, it can all come crashing down
The flower then plants its’ seeds & re-grows with beauty
Then our friendship comes back & stays strong

Thirteen

I finished 2 books but here is one of them. Thirteen by Lauren Myracle. There are 4 in all but I have only read this one cause I turned 13 in Nov. Winnie Perry is a teenager-at last!! And it likes a really big deal. A ginormous deal, which, wouldn't know it, brings ginormous problems along with it! Winnie's BFF #1 is growing up too slowly, while her BFF #2 is growing up too fast, leaving Winnie stuck in the middle. Winnie's boyfriend, Lars, is fabulous-except when he's not. Oh how she wishes for it to be more like in her head. And as for Winnie's family, well, BIG CHANGES are in the air! This book was so great and funny. It really does help with all the teen drama that we as teens have to deal with. Plus if you just turned 13 (LIKE ME!) or will be soon...I would say read this! The next one is Thirteen Plus One...that will be good but I haven't read it yet. But I would say read this one! :D -Hannah

The Symbol Of Beauty

 The Symbol of Beauty
We watch the sun go down and the colors just burst out.
We see the butterflies spread their wings and fly
The sound of birds singing from tree to tree
All is still, all is right
We grasp its beauty in our palm for we wish it to stay
But once again it all disappears at once
Though we wish it all stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen the true beauty that is here

At First Bite!

I am the reading queen! Hahaha...I finished another book it is At First Bite by Ruth Ames. It is a Poison Apple Book. Ever since she became a full-fledged vampire, things haven't been easy for twelve-year-old Ashlee Lambert. After moving from New York City to sunny Los Angeles, she's excited to make a fresh new start. But Ashlee never counted on a clique of popular mean girls who won't let her in their group or awful sunburns. Keeping her huge secret is suddenly harder than ever. And when something-or someone- starts attacking people at her school, Ashlee realizes she's not the only vampire in town. It's up to Ashlee and her friends to figure out who's behind the attacks before her cover is blown forever! I loved this book! I wish it had gone into stuff but hey that lets you pick the ending. It shows some things that you may have never gone through or just ever thought about. I think you should read it! LOL :) & don't worry have a lot more books to read...

Bridge to Terabithia

I finished another book! And I have a lot more...haha!! It is called Bridge To Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. A secret world of their own...Jess Aaron's greatest ambition is to be the fastest runner in the fifth grade. He's been practicing all summer long and can't wait to see his classmates' faces when he beats them all! But on the first day of school, a new girl boldly crosses over to the boys' side of the playground and outruns everyone! That isn't a very good start or promising beginning for a friendship, but Jess and Leslie Burke become inseparable. Leslie has imagination. Together, she and Jess create Terabithia, a magical kingdom in the woods where the two of them rule as king and queen, and their imaginations set the only limits. Then one morning a terrible tragedy occurs. Only when Jess is able to come to grips with this tragedy does he finally understand the strength and courage Leslie has given him. I loved this book! It really  shows something everyone needs to know. I mean friendship is something everyone needs and it can be hard to do things without friends. Plus you can always make some place to where you can just be yourself. This book is really good! Its a must read. :)

Coke(Coca-Cola)

We have heard of Coke! It has been around since 1886.(I think) At first it was used for medicine but then it became a soft drink!!! It was made in these kind of bottles...glass. I think that is cool! But the Makers of Coke made a new product of Coke but no one liked it so they had to take all the bad coke out of stores & put the one people liked which is now what we have today......Original Coke! My great grandfather, Granddaddy Jack, favorite drink was Coke and when we would go to his house, my dad, brother, & I would always get coke for our drink. I loved to drink out of the glass coke because I had never seen anything like it & thought it was cool that I got to drink out of it. Plus one my favorite memories would be Jack holding the coke bottle...Coke will always & forever be my favorite soft drink! Sorry Mellow Yellow...GO COKE! :)

Secrets, Lies, and Algebra

I finished another book...Secrets, Lies, and Algebra by Wendy Lichtman. Tess loves math...(I do too!) because its the one subject she can trust-there's always just one right answer and it never changes. Plus if it isn't right you know its wrong and that doesn't change either. But then she starts algebra, and is introduced to those pesky and mysterious variables, which seem to be everywhere in eighth grade. When even your friends and parents can be variables, how in the world do you find out the right answers to really important questions, like what to do about a boy you like or whom to tell when someone's done something really bad?? Will Tess's life ever stop changing long enough for her to figure it all out?? I love this book. It is really good & everything starts changing you just can't keep up. It will get better along the way I bet though..this is good. Read or not..I think you should read it for those who just don't have the answers to some things.

Mockingjay

I finished the third book of Hunger Games, Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Now since this is the last book I can't say a whole lot...but I can say some! My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead! Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta is captured by the Capitol! District 13 really does exist...there are rebels! There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding. It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell. and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans-except Katniss....The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay-no matter what the personal cost. I loved this book!!! It is a must read. It really makes you think...it goes to places that Katniss hoped would never happen. She will be changed forever and so will Panem. READ IT!! LOL :) But once you finish it, it sucks cause the movie doesn't come out til March 12, 2012. -Hannah

Drawing!

This is my drawing! It is called When Dawn Becomes Day by no other...Hannah K. Elmore! I got the idea one day...I think I was going to school & when my mom and I go to school the sun is coming up. When the sun was coming up the trees & everything looked black like it was painted black almost. I thought it was so pretty & I got the idea to draw it! To me it shows that the Earth is so pretty & wonderful, mostly because God made it with His own two hands! But even though the Earth is so beautiful people still mistreat it! They throw their trash where animals could get hurt, they cut down trees, & they put bad chemicals in the air & water! I mean....why?! The Earth is your home too so why not try to help it?! I like my drawing & I hope you do too! Leave comments & tell me what you think. Thanks, BYE! -Hannah :D
